Is this the most beautiful drainpipe in Paris?
This is one of the famous and most beautiful drainpipes in Paris. It can be seen at the Hotel de Lauzun at 17 quai d’Anjou on Ile Saint-Louis in the 4th arrondissment. (N.B. No, you can’t book a room here).
The hotel was supposed to have been the centre of evil, the headquarters of a satanic federation in the movie The 9th Gate directed by Roman Polanski starring Johnny Depp.
Do you know of another beautiful drainpipe in Paris?
Beautiful photo 🙂
I never would have put “beautiful” and “drainpipe” in the same sentence before, but this is actually a very nice drainpipe.
Wonderful – a drain pipe as a work of art! And why shouldn’t it be, really…
It so wonderful when you can find such things in cities…I wish nowadays new constructions still had this sort of delightful detail, instead of simply steel and glass
Love the POV!
That is definitely the most ornate drain pipe I’ve ever seen! Beautiful
You’ve captured one of my favorite things about Paris: the unexpected ‘finds’ in the most unexpected places! Great photo.
That is a beautiful one!
These little quirky finds are so cool. The thing about becoming interested in photography is how these things stand out to your eye, almost as if they find you because you’re interested in them.
I was thinking to have a theme for Magnificent Monday on my site- windows/doors, archways where we can post up similar detail about buildings and architecture.
Architecture, now that is one thing I’m quite interested in too, Jim. Will probably try to participate on your Manificent Monday too. Just tell me where to go.
